Test whether regret projections are genuine by checking if
Test whether regret projections are genuine by checking if they ever contradict your current impulses; if projections always agree with present desires, you're performing motivated reasoning rather than consulting your future self.
Why This Is a Principle
This principle derives from Bias Blind Spot Asymmetry (bias blind spot), Belief Perseverance Against Contradictory Evidence (belief perseverance), and Knowledge of cognitive biases does not reduce susceptibility (knowledge doesn't reduce bias). It prescribes a meta-cognitive check on the framework's proper use.
