Autonomy is the felt sense of being the author of your own
Autonomy is the felt sense of being the author of your own actions, not freedom from structure.
Why This Is an Axiom
This is Deci & Ryan's SDT definition of autonomy, but it's philosophical rather than empirical because it represents a normative claim about what autonomy MEANS. The curriculum adopts this definition to resolve the apparent paradox that structure can increase freedom. This is a bedrock interpretive framework.
