Axiomtheoreticalv1
Emotions function as evaluative signals that provide
Emotions function as evaluative signals that provide information about events that matter to the cognitive system.
Why This Is an Axiom
This is the feelings-as-information framework (Schwarz & Clore 1983) adopted as a theoretical foundation. It is not derived from observing that resentment reveals values — rather, it is the framework that justifies treating resentment (and other emotions) as informational. This is a theoretical commitment about what emotions ARE, not a derived principle about how to use them.
